About
Doug Milner is an innovative and seasoned executive with over 40 years experience, extensive private equity engagements and multiple exits including strategic, Financial sponsor, and public market realizations. Doug has a unique and diverse background including industrial internet-of-things, technology enabled services, hardware enabled SaaS (HeSaaS), engineered power systems and industrial services. Over his career, Doug has focused on building high performance teams, repositioning businesses for growth, leveraging technology and driving operational excellence.
Following the sale of Telular Corp. (Avista Capital Partners) to AMETEK, Doug formed True Bearing LLC, a consultancy focused on developing and delivering value creation strategies for private equity portfolio companies across diverse industries. True Bearing works closely with management teams during their entire private equity journey from onboarding, strategic planning, executing on value creation mandates and highly impactful exit planning.
​​Doug is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University where he earned a BA majoring in physics and mathematics. Doug holds an MSEE from Duke University and an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
